Feb 09, 2010 I remember noting that one of the kit manufacturers uses 1.2mm 5000 series alloy, which is about 1.6 times the strength of 1050. In terms or wear resistance, the relative hardness of 500 series alloys is about 1.8 times 1050, and 6082 about 2.8 times as good. I was going to 2mm 5083 for my floor. Regards Hugh
