Have a 2019 Forester, thinking about putting some under body protection on it. Subaru has an OEM aluminum and or steel skid plate for the front and a steel diff skid plate. LP adventure has similar products. I have no experience with underbody panel protection, any advice or opinion?

There is a reason all the skid plate manufacturers out there use Aluminum. and just a Mod note, I moved this to the Offroad Tech forum.

E515SAN000 is the aluminum one for the 2.4 engine which is designed to prevent restricion for the turbo. E515SAN010 is the black steel version for the 2.5 motor. My part is not black and is very light weight.

Sep 29, 2018 The skid plate lowered my factory suspension clearance from 8.7” to 7.25” at its lowest point - directly beneath the transmission pan. The rally washers all protrude an additional 0.75" below the bottom of the skid plate for a total ground clearance of 6.5" below the two rear bolts/rally washers. I'm not very happy about that!
