Apr 25, 2008 The Teskid Aluminim blocks (pre '01) are some of the best and strongest 4.6 blocks out there. They can handle upwards of 1200 HP with no issue. So to answer your question, yes, it is worth a 60-70 lb reduction when swapping to the Aluminum block, other than that, there is no real performance gain or difference between the blocks.

Jan 29, 2010 D. Actually, the new aluminum block that Ford has been producing since 05 is the strongest aluminum block available. Starting in 05 they began using a new casting process that produces a block that is stronger than the Teksid. Unless you are going for 1000hp+ any 4.6 block you can find will work no problem.
