There are flux cored rods as well , but the fluxes contained in them are usually non-corrosive, and thus ineffective on the 5xxx series and some 6xxx series alloys.

Dec 28, 2010 Yep, a good aluminum brazing rod is *much* easier to use than trying to TIG thin material such as that used for mufflers. I've always found it a pain trying to TIG the inside of right-angle joins with thin aluminum tubes/sheet because the arc will inevitably pull to the sides rather than the join-line -- but I haven't practiced that much.

Blew holes in the alloy etc due to excessive heat as they wouldn't melt at correct temp. Ultra Bond cost a little more but worked perfectly.
