Feb 16, 2006 Don't give in to the temptation to play with the lifting paint. Let the stipper do the work. Avoid the steel wool and use Scotch Brite. Use water to wash off the lifted paint. Makes a mess. Don't apply more stripper until the aluminum is completely dry as water instantly neutralizes the stripper. Good to know if you get any on your skin. Good luck.

To strip off the anodize, use the procedure above and you'll have to do the continuity test to make sure you removed all of the anodize.
