Apr 02, 2011 I'm looking to buy my first Rambler. There is a 1963 Classic for sale that has the original aluminum block engine. The engine runs and the car shifts OK into gear. Car sat in storage for a long time so it's not totally road worthy to take a long or fast test drive. I've read that the aluminum blocks were prone to warp if overheated.

I have a 65 Rambler Classic, connected the sub frames, added some bracing, put in a 350 sbc trans. used the stock trans crossmember, I found a bolt on for front disc brakes, use stock front suspension with air bags, 9" ford rear( mid 80's f100) and it rides better now than when my Dad got it in 1978 for $200.
