A LeMans engine (ACO legal, can run the 24 hours of LeMans, ALMS, etc.) for an LMP1 car, is normally leased rather than bought.

Cracks in an aluminum head or block, on the other hand, are much more difficult to repair by pinning because aluminum is a softer metal than cast iron so the pins and plugs can't achieve as much “bite” as they do in an iron casting.

A highly caustic solution in a hot tank or spray washer can be very effective cleaning agent for removing most contaminants from iron heads and blocks. But if the same solution is used on aluminum, it may be too caustic and etch or discolor the metal.
Because there are only so many CNC machine types, the parameters are unlikely to differ hugely anyway. Nov 25, 2021 My local NAPA had an inhouse machine shop. Old NAPA owner died off and the man working in the machine shop purchased the shop and is still in business. He used to bore lots of blocks and did lots of valve jobs and head surfacing. Kept 2 racks full of "ready to go" heads for Fords and Chevys. That part of the business is nearly non-existent now.
