Im having some issues removing a few of the nuts and studs from the exhaust manifold. i was noticing some smoke from the manifold and some of the nuts were very loose, these came out with little issue. however i am left with a few which are rusty/cheesy/rounded nuts.. all of the studs so far that have come out have come out with the

Ford 460, lots of stuff in the way, messy job drilling out siezed studs with poor access, inserted 3 helicoils, fly-cut the manifold flat again, all new bolts studs from the dealer.

The four manifold studs in the middle are longer than the end studs, and they also run through into the vertical holes for the head bolts. Here you should use a thread sealer on the base of the studs during assembly to prevent oil from weeping out onto the hot exhaust manifold when running. Also use studs with correct dimensions.

Hey, guys--I know a lot of you have worked on your H3 exhaust manifold, so I could use some advice at this point. My '07 H3 had 3 manifold bolts sheared off flush with the cylinder head. A fourth broke with hardly any force when trying to remove it. A mechanic friend helped me drill tap them out. When drilling one out, the small drill bit snapped off in the center of the bolt.
