Dec 28, 2021 I have for sale a bare LS2 6.0 gen 4 aluminum ls block. This is an ALUMINUM block so its about 100 pounds lighter than the standard iron block. Its dusty from sitting, and it will probably need a hone. I just don`t need it any more

The cylinder liners are particularly thin, and can only tolerate a light hone (.005 inch) during a rebuild (the later blocks allow .010 inch).

I have a gen 4 ls 5.3 LC9 aluminum short block for sale. Its an aluminum block, its about 100lbs lighter than an iron block and they`re a more rare. It turns over fine. Its a gen IV, so it has the thicker rods and pistons and is stronger than the gen III and will hold more power when boosted or used with nitrous. Dec 09, 2018 There are a few ways to tell what you have. -LS engines have the engine size cast into the front of the block (4.8/5.3, 5.7, 6.0, 6.2, 7.0). The 4.8/5.3 block has both numbers cast onto it, not one or the other. -All iron blocks are truck engines, all car engines have aluminum blocks, but not all aluminum blocks are car blocks.
