Jan 17, 2020 Theirs is $550, and uses the same 2.5 ton RareParts tie rod ends everyone else seems to run. But they don't offer a smaller version as far as I know. I went with a 2.5 ton tie rod, but we have 37's and wheel it in the rocks a bit. For less extreme usage I would think a Barnes 1 ton aluminum tie rod would be OK.
User Interaction Count: 62The factory JK tie rod is made from a hollow thin-wall tube. The PROBLEM is that most aftermarket units are still made of steel which once bent will stay bent. Our tie rod is made with 1.5" SOLID 7075 aircraft aluminum. 7075 aluminum carries a memory to it. When it is bent, it pops back into place!

Feb 07, 2018 I ran a 1.75" aluminum tie rod with the barnes ends. It contacted my Teraflex diff cover slightly. The aluminum bar was a little too long at first and had no threads showing on the rod ends. The jam nuts self-clearanced my factory rims with I believe 1.5" spacers.

Without enough lift for high steer knuckles, there is not enough room to do a tie rod flip and it doesn't seem to get you much elevation. The vendors that sell aluminum tie rods claim that aluminum will spring back into shape where steel will bend.
